The meaningful engagement of people living with HIV is at the heart of all our work at GNP+. The world has acknowledged that to ensure the best possible response to HIV, governments, donors, UN agencies and NGOs all need to respect the rights of people living with HIV to self-determination and participation in decisions that affect our lives.
We believe, the priorities, voices and experiences of people living with HIV must inform, shape and direct all policy and programmes aimed at improving the health and lives of people living with HIV.
We also actively support the community delegations to the Global Fund and UNITAID and strive to amplify their voices as well as encouraging networks of people living with HIV to be part of Global Fund country coordinating mechanisms (CCMs) in their country.
GNP+ is proud to partner with our sister networks, the International Community of Women living with HIV (ICW) and Y+ Global – we stand together as a movement of people living with HIV. We engage in joint advocacy on a range of priority issues as part of the Beyond LIVING process and we support and strengthen each other’s work.
People living with HIV are primary stakeholders in national and global health decision making – they have expertise to contribute and their voices and concerns must be heard and acted upon.
